LVI-numero Oy maintains the LVI-INFO.fi product information register, which brings together product information for HVAC products. LVI-INFO.fi contains information on the majority of HVAC products available on the Finnish market. The content of the service is maintained by product manufacturers and importers, who are responsible for the accuracy of the product information they provide.

2. Purpose of the service

LVI-INFO.fi is a product information register for the HVAC sector. The purpose of the service is to enable the management, maintenance, search and transfer of product information for products with LVI numbers for use by operators in the sector.

An LVI number uniquely identifies an HVAC product within the industry’s business and supply chain. Through the LVI-INFO.fi service, customers can add their products to the product information register, which provides operators in the building services and construction sectors with impartial and up-to-date product information in digital form.

3. Users of the service

The service is primarily intended for companies and professionals operating in the HVAC sector, such as manufacturers, importers, wholesalers, designers and contractors.

Access to the administration section of the product information register requires a username and password. If a company is not yet a customer of LVI-INFO.fi, it can register as a customer by completing the customer agreement form.

4. Registering as a customer

A company can register as a customer by completing the customer agreement form. Once the customer details have been registered, further instructions will be sent by email.

LVI-numero Oy reserves the right to verify customer information before approving a customer account and may request additional information where necessary.

5. User accounts and access rights

User accounts are personal. Users are responsible for keeping their usernames and passwords secure and must not disclose them to third parties.

The LVI-INFO.fi product information register has three levels of customer access rights: Administrator, Editor and Viewer. Each company may have only one Administrator.

  1. Administrator manages the customer’s user accounts, grants access rights and is responsible for ensuring that the company’s customer details, billing information and user access rights are accurate and up to date. The Administrator also has all Editor permissions.
  2. Editor can apply for LVI numbers for products, archive products and edit product information and attachments. The Editor also has all Viewer permissions.
  3. Viewer has limited access rights and cannot apply for LVI numbers, edit or archive products, or manage the customer account. A Viewer can search for and download product information and attachments associated with the customer account from the product information register.

The customer is responsible for all actions carried out in the service using the user accounts assigned to its users.

6. Customer responsibility for product information

The customer is responsible for all product information it adds to and maintains in the service, including its accuracy, currency, completeness and compliance with applicable laws.

An LVI number may be assigned to a product once at least the mandatory basic product information has been provided. Providing only the mandatory information does not necessarily ensure that the product information is sufficient for all purposes for which it may be used.

Customers should aim to provide as complete a set of relevant product information as possible, including information required for purposes such as design, procurement, installation and maintenance.

7. Applying for, updating and archiving LVI-numbers

Subject to their access rights, customers may apply for LVI- numbers for products and update or archive products in the LVI-INFO.fi product information register.

LVI-numero Oy reviews information submitted to the service before it is published or approved. LVI-numero Oy may request additional information, corrections or supplementary details if the submitted product information is incomplete, incorrect or inconsistent.

LVI-numero Oy reserves the right to refuse to assign an LVI number or publish product information if the product or the information provided does not comply with the requirements or instructions of the service or with applicable legislation.

8. Rights to submitted content

The customer retains all rights to the product information, images, documents and other content it submits to the service, unless otherwise agreed separately.

By submitting content to the LVI-INFO.fi service, the customer grants LVI-numero Oy the right to store, process, publish, transmit, display, technically modify and distribute that content to the extent necessary for the operation and purposes of the service.

This includes, for example, displaying and distributing product information through the search service, the product information register, APIs and other functions related to LVI-INFO.fi.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that any content submitted to the service does not infringe the rights of third parties, including copyrights, trademark rights or other intellectual property rights.

9. APIs

LVI-numero Oy provides API services to its customers and to other operators in the building services and construction sectors for the transfer of product information.

Use of the write API is included in the annual LVI number fee for LVI-INFO.fi customers. The write API can be used to maintain the customer’s own product information in the LVI-INFO.fi product information register.

Use of the write API requires an API key linked to a personal user account in the LVI-INFO.fi product information register.

Use of the read API is also included in the annual fee, but access is limited to the customer’s own products. The read API can, for example, be used to maintain product information on the customer’s own website or online store.

The read API also requires an API key. The API key used for the read API is separate from the one used for the write API.

LVI-numero Oy also provides access to product information through the read API to other operators in the building services and construction sectors that are not LVI-INFO.fi LVI number customers.

Product information available through LVI-INFO.fi may be used via the APIs in the recipient’s own business operations, including in design, documentation, enterprise resource planning, quantity calculation, procurement and e-commerce systems.

Use of the read API by such parties requires a separate API agreement with LVI-numero Oy. The agreement specifies the terms of use, including the scope of the available product information and the monthly fee. Use of the read API requires an API key.

The customer is responsible for keeping API keys secure and for all use made with those keys.

10. Prohibited use

The LVI-INFO.fi service must not be used in any manner that:

  • violates applicable laws, official regulations, generally accepted standards of conduct or these Terms of Use
  • compromises the security, operation or availability of the service
  • infringes the rights of LVI-numero Oy, other customers or third parties
  • involves incorrect, misleading, offensive or unauthorised content
  • attempts to circumvent access rights, technical safeguards or the intended purpose of the service
  • places an unreasonable load on the service, for example through automated searches without separate permission.

LVI-numero Oy reserves the right to restrict or block access to the service if a user or customer breaches these Terms of Use or otherwise misuses the service.

11. Pricing and invoicing

The annual LVI-INFO.fi fee is based on the number of products registered to the customer. The annual fee is calculated in accordance with the applicable price list and the number of products in the register on the last day of January.

If the number of products in the product information register has increased significantly by the end of May, the difference may be invoiced separately as an additional charge.

Invoices are issued as soon as reasonably possible after the relevant product count dates.

Fees for use of the read API by parties other than LVI-INFO.fi customers are based on separate API agreements and are invoiced separately.

The customer is responsible for keeping its billing information up to date. The Administrator is responsible for the accuracy of the company’s customer and billing information and for managing the company’s user access rights.

Payment terms, late-payment interest and other invoicing terms are determined in accordance with the terms stated on the invoice.

12. Service availability and changes

LVI-numero Oy aims to keep the service available and operating reliably 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

LVI-numero Oy processes the personal data of users and customers for the purposes of providing the service, managing customer relationships, maintaining user accounts, handling invoicing and communicating in connection with the service.

19. End of the customer relationship

When the customer relationship ends, the customer’s product information will be removed from the LVI-INFO.fi product information register and all user accounts associated with the customer account will be closed.

The customer’s LVI numbers will be archived when the customer relationship ends.

Archived LVI numbers may be restored at the customer’s request if the customer relationship is reactivated and there is no other reason preventing their restoration.

20. Amendments to the terms of use

LVI-numero Oy reserves the right to amend these Terms of Use. Any changes will be announced on the website.

The amended Terms of Use will take effect on the date specified in the notice. Continued use of the service after the amended Terms of Use have entered into force will be deemed acceptance of the amended terms.
