LVI-INFO glossary

This glossary explains the most common terms related to the use of the LVI-INFO.fi database.

Product information database containing data for over 180,000 HVAC products from more than 400 manufacturers and importers. The products are identified using LVI-numbers. Customer access to the LVI-INFO.fi database requires registration.

An LVI-number is a seven-digit identification number for HVAC products sold in Finland.

An LVI-number to which the registering company has exclusive usage rights.

An LVI-number registered for multiple companies. A shared number is identified according to the manufacturer’s own product brand.

The Order basket is used when registering a new product in the LVI-INFO.fi database. A new product is identified with an LVI-number.

The Edit basket is used when making changes to product information in the LVI-INFO.fi database.

The Remove basket is used when archiving a product in the LVI-INFO.fi database.

The Reactivation basket is used when a previously archived product is restored to active status in the LVI-INFO.fi database.

The Product Information Standard is an Excel document used for creating LVI-numbers for products, as well as editing product information and archiving products.

The Product Information Standard can be downloaded from the LVI-INFO.fi database after logging into the service.

An Excel template that contains, in addition to product identification data, the ETIM class assigned to the product and its properties. The ETIM template can be downloaded from the LVI-INFO.fi database after logging into the service.

A data exchange format for ETIM classification in which product data is delivered as an Excel file in a predefined structure.

A function that allows an LVI-INFO’s customers to automatically send order, change, and deletion baskets from their own system to the LVI-INFO.fi database.

BMEcat is an XML-format file used to transmit product technical information in ETIM-standardized format.

A public search service available on the LVI-INFO.fi homepage, which allows users to search for and compare products with LVI-numbers.
