Required initial information for opening an LVI-number

When you open an LVI-number for a product, the following information is the minimum required.

Please note that it is important to provide as comprehensive and accurate product information as possible. Providing only the mandatory information does not in itself guarantee that the product data is sufficient. The supplier is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all product information.

After each product information entry, there is an indication of the field code in the Product Information Standard where the information in question can be found.

The product group code consists of two digits and forms the beginning of the 7-digit LVI-number. (TT020)

The product class is a subclass of the product group that defines more specifically which product category the product belongs to. When creating a new LVI-number, add the product class in the form. In the Product Information Standard, the product class has a dedicated field only when product information is exported from the system. (TT026)

The product name is the Finnish generic name of the product. The product name should not include, for example, technical product information or the brand name, as these product details have their own dedicated fields. (TT200)

The product brand or trademark. If the product does not have a brand name, use the supplier’s name without the “Oy” designation. (TT110)

The GTIN-13 code (Global Trade Identification Number) is used for the global identification of a product. (TT052)

The country where the product is manufactured. (TT501)

The commodity code is a numerical code used to identify a product for customs clearance and taxation purposes. (TT502)

Indicates whether the product is sold by piece (PCE) or by meter (MTR). (TT400)

Specifies the sales unit in which the product is sold. All available sales units can be found in the Product Information Standard template under the “Sales unit” tab. (TT402)

The conversion factor indicates how many units of use are included in a sales unit. When the unit of use and the sales unit are the same, the conversion factor is 1.

For example: if a product is sold in bags containing 100 units and the unit of use is 1, the conversion factor is 100, and the sales unit is BG (abbreviation for bag). (TT401)

Packaging information is considered completed when all the following information has been provided for at least one package size: type, size, width, height, length, and weight. Package size 0 is mandatory product information. (TT407, TT438–TT444)

The main image is a clear image of the product. It is the first image displayed on the product card. The image can be added either through the form (in png, jpeg, tif, tiff, eps, or gif format) or via the Product Information Standard template. (TT701)
