LVI-numero Oy, the company behind the LVI-INFO.fi service, was founded in 2003 in response to Finland’s HVAC industry’s need for a shared database and a standard for storing and presenting product data. Today the LVI-INFO.fi service contains up-to-date product data for approximately 180,000 HVAC and plumbing products.
The LVI-INFO.fi product database is maintained by product manufacturers and importers. Through the LVI-INFO.fi service, manufacturers, importers, and wholesalers can transfer product data to each other’s systems in a cost-efficient and reliable way.
LVI-INFO.fi provides an efficient and standardized tool for all building services professionals, such as designers, contractors, installers, developers, and property owners.
LVI-number is more than just a product code
In Finland, HVAC and plumbing products sold through wholesalers are identified using an LVI-number, which is used to recognise products throughout the entire supply chain. LVI-numbers serve as official product identifiers required in sales systems, documentation, technical design, and invoicing.
LVI-INFO.fi effectively complements manufacturers’ and importers’ own product data systems. In addition to basic product information, customers can add to products, for example, environmental information, technical characteristics in ETIM format, installation instructions, and packaging information.
