Managing product data with the Product Information Standard

Completing product data according to different requirements
The Product Information Standard has been extended with RoHS and REACH data fields, as well as a SCIP number field. The product component code and generic name of the information system for built environment (RYTJ) have also been given their own fields.

RoHS and REACH compliance
Information on whether the product complies with the RoHS Directive (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) or is registered in accordance with the REACH Regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) is provided in these fields as a yes/no value. Declarations may be added to a document location or provided as a link to the declarations.

SCIP identification number
The SCIP identification number is a unique identifier that refers to a product or article registered in the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) SCIP database, which contains substances of very high concern (SVHC) at a concentration above 0.1%.

The product component code and generic name of the information system for built environment
As a result of the RAVA3Pro project, a code set for systems has been created, enabling different software and systems to interpret HVAC products in a consistent way, which is essential for data models.
This field is linked to the generic name, and its content is formed based on the product name in the format T-LVI-08-02-001 – Washbasin tap. Linking product names to RYTJ product component codes has been started at LVI-INFO. All HVAC product component codes can be found on the koodistot.suomi.fi website. This field cannot be filled in in the Product Information Standard, but the code is automatically displayed when products are imported into the Product Information Standard.
